SCIENCE 20

UNIT D – CHANGES IN LIVING SYSTEMS

General Outcome 1: Students will analyze ecosystems and ecological succession in the local area and describe the relationships and interactions among subsystems and components.

What is happening with our wetlands? Are we protecting them sufficiently? Evaluate the mitigation hierarchy and its effect on ecosystems.

General Outcome 2: Students will analyze and investigate the cycling of matter and the flow of energy through the biosphere and ecosystems as well as the interrelationship of society and the environment.

Does our current water management system exemplify an interrelationship between society and the environment – or in other words is our water management system focused on societal needs while sacrificing the environment?
